Custer County auditor Terri Cornelison has resigned, although it appears the resignation may be temporary.
At a special meeting of the Custer County Commission Aug. 3, Cornelison tendered her resignation effective immediately, with a caveat. The county will create a temporary full-time position of chief deputy auditor, which Cornelison will fill through Feb. 3. She will continue to receive her current salary.
County treasurer Dawn McLaughlin will oversee and manage the functions of the auditor and treasurer’s office and will receive a bump in pay to do so.
