All throughout life, we seem to be seeking bigger and better things. We want that new phone that does all the things, we want a new car with all the bells and whistles, we want a bigger and nicer house.

Yes, these things are nice and sometimes are needed, but are these material things make our life complete? To me, the answer is a resounding no.

I may not seem like it at times, but I’m a pretty simple person. It doesn’t take a whole lot to make me happy.

Every child has someone in their life that means a whole lot to them. Parents, obviously (and hopefully) provide nurturing support to children as the progress through life.

Friends, too, play a huge role in a child’s life — both developmentally and socially.

But there’s one person in my life whose support throughout the years meant the world. We’ll call her Mrs. S.

To me, there are only a few people in this world who exude excellence.

Kobe Bryant was one of them.

Everything Kobe did was excellent, but, to me, one of the things that stood out the most about Kobe is that he expected that same excellence out of everyone around him.
