Timothy Gene Norberg, 65, entered into eternal rest Oct. 28, 2025.
Tim was born in Mankato, Minn., Dec.7, 1959, to Harlow and Marlene Norberg. He grew up with three wonderful sisters, Tami, Sheri and Shani.
Tim graduated from Mankato East in 1978 and St. John’s University in 1981, where he enjoyed playing football and developing his ruthless business acumen alongside lifelong friendships.

Jerry Cobb

Jerry Dennis Cobb was born March 5, 1939, in Hansen County, S.D.  He was the youngest of eight children born to Andrew and Irene Heath Cobb. 
Jerry passed away Oct. 23, 2025, in Custer, S.D., at the age of 86. 
Jerry grew up on farms in the Alexandria and Mitchell, S.D. area. He rode horseback to country schools through eighth grade and graduated from Mitchell High School.
He married Bonnie Wilcox  April 6, 1957, in Mitchell. They were blessed with a son, Timothy and a daughter, Jodi.  Jerry and Bonnie resided in Minnesota for over 40  years.

Jack Kitchen

Jack Kitchen, 85, of Custer, S.D., passed away Oct. 20, 2025.  
He was born April 21, 1940, in Hot Springs, S.D., to Vernon and Evelyn (McFayden) Kitchen.   He graduated from Custer High School. 
Jack was honorably discharge from the U.S. National Guard and worked for the VR Sawmill; Custer Lumber; both the city and county of Custer and after retiring from the city he worked for Bradeen Auctions.
He was quite the storyteller and loved collecting things.

Edward Leo Warn, 1941-2025, committal service was held Black Hills National Cemetery Oct. 28, 2025.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer, S.D.

Warren Swartz

After battling cancer he is no longer in pain.
Warren Alvin Swartz, born March 20, 1952, in Edgeley, N.D., and passed away, Oct. 12, 2025 in Custer, S.D.
Warren graduated from Custer High School and from there he and his brother served in the Army National Guard. After the Guard they made Pringle, S.D., their homestead.
While living in Pringle Warren joined the fire department where he and his brother served many years. Warren worked most of his life logging beside his twin brother and dad. 

Annette Smith

Annette Smith, 78, passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025 in Spearfish, S.D.
Annette was born March 20, 1947, in Hot Springs, S.D., to Donald and Mary Bell (Marty) Nelson. She was the youngest of four.
She grew up on the family ranch west of Hot Springs where her father raised registered Hereford cattle. She attended the Minnekahta School through grade school and then went on to high school in Hot Springs. Annette graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1965 and moved to Custer, S.D., where she worked at the Black Hills National Forest office.

Francine Johannson

A celebration of the life of Francine Johannson, 60 year old Buffalo, Wyo., resident who passed away quietly at her home in Buffalo following a long illness, will be held by her family at a later time. A visitation will be held at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo Friday, Oct. 10, from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Donations in Francine’s name may be made to the Francine Johannson Memorial, a fund set up to help her family to defray expenses in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo or to Francine’s Tribute Fund on the Harness Funeral Home Obituary Page.

Charlene Compton

Charlene Compton, 65, of Custer, S.D., passed away Oct. 1, 2025. 
She was born Nov. 21, 1959, in Deadwood, S.D., to parents, Glen and Lois (Cross) Longden.   
Charlene had a heart of gold, she was a true mother, always putting her family first.  Her family was everything to her! She loved items that had sentimental value.   Charlene loved with all of her heart and never gave up on her husband, son or herself. She will surely be missed.
Charlene is preceded in death by her sisters, Deon Longden and Glenda Longden; and her brother, Monte Longden. 

Warren Swartz

Warren Swartz, 73, of Pringle, S.D., passed away Oct. 12, 2025. Committal service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at Pringle Cemetery in Pringle. Arrangements have been made in the care of Chamberlain McColleys Funeral Home in Custer, S.D. 

Harold Stickney

Harlod Dean Stickney, 99, passed away Sept. 27, 2025, at Pine Hills Retirement Center in Hot Springs, S.D.
Harold  Stickney was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Edgemont, S.D., to Guy and Blanche Stickney. After graduating from high school, Harold enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served with distinction in the South Pacific during World War II, flying 41 combat missions.
