The Custer High School cross country teams headed to Sturgis last Thursday and got a feel for the course before heading back to Sturgis this Thursday for the Black Hills Conference meet.
Freshman Peyton Krueger finished 19th place in the varsity 5K race with a time of 17:26.26, a personal record time for him this season.
“That’s a hard course to PR (personal record) at,” said head coach Karen Karim.
In 30th place came Austin Drew with a time at 17:50.31— pretty good for losing his shoe during the race, said Karim.
