HELP WANTED: CUSTER COUNTY
Custer County is accepting applications for a full-time Planning Technician. This position offers daytime hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), no weekends, most holidays off, paid leave, a comprehensive county benefits package, and a starting wage of $19.04 per hour (DOE). The Planning Technician plays an important role in supporting the growth and development of Custer County by assisting with permit processing, land use records, wastewater and approach inspections, customer service, planning-related projects, and the County's expanding Geographic Information System (GIS). The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to balance office responsibilities with field inspections while providing excellent service to property owners, contractors, and the public. Experience in planning, permitting, construction, surveying, GIS, local government, or related fields is preferred. Experience with ArcMap, ArcGIS, or similar GIS software is beneficial but not required.
