Before the concrete was poured and the walls took shape, the foundation of Hill City’s new Ambulance Service building was already in place—the community that supported it.
After rallying together from bake sales to bingo cards, the hometown that fueled and funded the new ambulance building is invited to celebrate its completion with a holiday-themed open house Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Hill City Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting around 10 a.m. to officially and ceremoniously christen the new building, and tours of the facility will be given throughout the day.
Local businesses will be catering the event with appetizers provided by Krull’s Market, Christmas candies and cookies from Candy Land and hot chocolate and apple cider from Hill City’s newest bakery, Idyll & Humble.
“It’s just our way of thanking everybody for all the wonderful donations and making it possible,” said Lori Comer of the Supporters for the Hill City Ambulance, the group that was monumental in fundraising for the new building.
The open house is being funded by a donation from Black Hills Energy.
