Lola Jansen
Lola Louise Jansen was born to Chris and Esther Hamann Sept. 15, 1946. She grew up in Custer, S.D., and graduated from Custer High School in 1964. She met and fell in love with Gene Honomichl and went onto marry Sept. 19, 1964. To this union they began their journey and welcomed their first child, Cheryl, and later on added one more, Wanda.
Later on Lola married Arlo (Joe) Jansen and settled in as a housewife and partial retirement to spend their days sight seeing and enjoying each other’s company. Her life revolved around family, especially her grandchildren, Terri and Tammi Hadlock; and Keith and Kristy Gramkow. As our family grew she gained 13 great grandchildren that she just adored, Laura and Adean Walker, Tradyn and Brysen Gramkow, Jayden, Easton, Owen and Dawson Gramkow, Jaycee Hadlock; and Jeremiah, Annabelle, Daniel and Faith Johnson.
Lola worked in numerous jobs, motels, restaurant and bowling alley. She has an array of friends that enjoyed her smile, laughter and company.
Lola passed away Sept. 7, 2023, in Rapid City, S.D. She was 76.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
For the people that got to enjoy her life, they are, Cheryl (Bob) Hadlock; Wanda (Travis) Gramkow; Keith (Saydi Behning) Gramkow; Kristy Gramkow; Terri (Hadlock) Johnson; Tammi Hadlock; 13 great grandchildren as mentioned; all the friends she has made along the way; and her forever companion, Buddy, her cat.
