Marinka Ziolkowski
Marinka Ziolkowski, daughter of Ruth and Korczak Ziolkowski, passed away Aug. 5, 2024, in Custer, S.D, at the age of 61.
Born Feb. 16, 1963, Marinka was known for her love of arts and animals, both of which were central to her life.
Marinka was a talented artist, often focusing on the landscapes of the Black Hills and the animals she admired. Her favorite memories included riding horses with her sisters as a child through the hills near their family home. Marinka’s work was marked by a deep connection to her surroundings and an eye for detail. Perhaps inspired by these cherished memories.
Throughout her life, Marinka wrestled with many health challenges. Despite these struggles, she remained dedicated to her art and personal interests, finding solace in creative expression.
She is survived by her siblings, John, Adam, Jadwiga, Mark, Joel and Monique; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Crazy Horse Memorial in Crazy Horse, S.D. At the entrance gate please share you are attending Marinka’s service and the entrance fee will be waived.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Custer Humane Society in Marinka’s Memory.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer.
