McDermott competing on ‘RV Unplugged’

Custer resident Lesa McDermott has been an avid outdoor adventurer for decades which helped her land a spot on “RV Unplugged,” a reality TV competition.
“RV Unplugged” immerses outdoor enthusiasts in the ultimate off-grid competition for a chance to win $25,000. With a focus on pushing limits, both individual and as part of a team, “RV Unplugged” resonates with adventure seekers nationwide.
Focused TV, a four-time Emmy award-winning production company, finished filming season two in Auburndale, Fla., in February. Episode one will air Wednesday, May 29, at  6 p.m. on the “RV Unplugged” YouTube channel and on television at RVTV. The finale rally will air live at Camp Margaritaville in  Auburndale, Fla., Aug. 7.
McDermott is the vice president of operations for Girl Camper, the largest organization of solo-women travelers in the country. Her teammate on “RV Unplugged” was Mary Byrnes, the Nebraska Chapter Guide for Girl Camper. The public won’t know if they won the competition until the finale.
Viewers of the show also have a chance to win a variety of prizes with the “RV Unplugged” Watch & Win competition.
New contests are introduced every month with prizes totaling more than $17,000. Some contests will last a week, while others will span the entire season. Fans should keep a close eye on each episode for secret codes that offer advantages in winning larger prizes.
