Preble to be at youth leadership forum

This summer Marika Preble, a junior at Custer High School, will join high school students from across the nation to take part in a unique academic and career-oriented development experience, NYLF: National Security in Washington, D.C. in July.
NYLF is one of the Envision by World Strides family of programs (envisionexperience.com) that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.
Preble was nominated to attend the forum by one of her teachers at Custer High School. In addition to participating in a dual credit criminal justice college class in high school Preble has worked hard to achieve her goal and dream of becoming a forensic analyst. Preble is looking forward to gaining the hands-on forensic experience that the national security forum provides.
Preble is also passionate about other activities. She participates in showing animals and art in 4-H, shoots archery, bowls on a youth bowling league, has a part-time job and helps her family around their hobby ranch. This summer she plans to visit a few colleges as well.
“As an alumna of Envision myself, I am excited for Marika to meet, work, and collaborate with other high-aspiring students from across the country and the globe,” said Amanda Freitag Thomas, SVP for Envision. “Hands down, my favorite part of attending an Envision program was being with motivated students in an environment designed to help us challenge our assumptions, meet new people, and grow. Creating that same learning environment is a central focus for all our programs. At NYLF, students build the confidence and skills needed to excel at college and in the workplace. They learn how to adapt to and communicate in new situations, to new challenges, and with new people, which, given how rapidly the world is changing due to technology and innovation, are essential skills for success.”
