Prior, Fish lead golfers in Rapid City

Gunner Prior and Dustyn Fish both posted season-best scores of 91 at the West River Invitational Golf Tournament last Thursday at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Rapid City.
The Wildcats took only three golfers to the meet, so they did not qualify for a team score. Rounding out the squad for the Wildcats was Ryder Bailey, who finished with a score of 100.
Alex Duran of Rapid City Central was medalist at the meet, firing a round of 76. He and his fellow Cobblers also won the team title with a score of 323. They were followed by Rapid City Stevens at 328 and Spearfish at 335.
The Wildcats opened their season last Tuesday at the Pre-Conference Meet at Southern Hills Golf Course in Hot Springs.
Fish was the top golfer for the Wildcats, as he shot his way to a 10th-place finish with a 90. Next up for the Wildcats was Bailey at 94, while Prior finished at 95. Rounding out the Wildcat scores was Ehtan Lappe at 126 and Matthew Merrill at 135.
The Wildcats finished third as a team with a score of 405. Chamberlain won the meet at 342, while St. Thomas More was second at 348. Medalist honors went to Cameron Caldwell of Chamberlain, who fired a 75.
The team is back in action tomorrow at Douglas for a meet, before heading to Hot springs for a meet at Southern Hills Golf Course. The Douglas meet begins at 9 a.m., while the action starts at 10 a.m. in Hot Springs.
