Rosalie Bindel

Rosalie Ann (Treloar) Bindel was born Oct. 8, 1942, in Tacoma, Wash., but spent most of her childhood between Custer, S.D., and El Paso, Texas. She was the daughter of Leona (Shelby) Treloar Martinez (d. 2000) and Waldo Treloar (d. 1978)  She was the sister to Waldo Jr. Treloar (d. 1996), Ron (and Ardis) Treloar of Custer and John (and Becky) Treloar of Granbury,Texas. 
She received her bachelor’s degree from UTEP, her master’s degree from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, N.M., and completed her Ph.D. at the University of California in Santa Barbara.
Her life’s work was receiving and investing in education. Some of those investments include educating and administration with the IAIA, Santa Fe Community College, Wayland Baptist University, Rapid City Public Schools and Virginia Beach Public Schools.
In November of 1961 she married the love of her life, John Marion Bindel (d. 1994) in El Paso. They went on to raise their children, William E. Bindel, Kimberly R. Bindel Ford and John Marcus Bindel in Santa Fe.
Rosalie died March 19, 2019, after a two and a half year battle with cancer.  She was 76.
She loved her grandchildren, Justin, Lauren, Alexia, Jessica, Jordan, Rylan, Colton and her great-granddaughter Carina Rose. She also had great love for her nieces, nephews, extended family, life-long friends Marlyn Tubbs, Irene (Phil) Bennett, Carole Kasen and childhood friend, Arthur Amiotte.
The family requests that any memorials be given to further the education of others.
