Select A Gift adds new twist

The Select A Gift Community Christmas  is happening this year, but with a twist to protect participants. This year only monetary donations will be accepted.
Gift recipients will now be able to request their gift (value up to $25). The Select A Gift committee will raise funds through Dec. 1 to purchase gifts for families in Custer County that may not otherwise receive a Christmas gift.
Gift recipients will pick up their family gifts Dec. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon along with their Christmas food basket at Custer Lutheran Fellowship. If you know of anyone who may qualify for this program, have them contact The Storehouse.
The Select A Gift committee members wants to raise at least $12,000 by Dec. 1; have all gifts purchased by Dec. 15; sort, wrap (with the help of dedicated volunteers) and organize prior to the gift giving Dec. 19.
Those who wish to give are asked to place their cash or check (made out to Custer Ministerial Alliance) in one of the envelopes provided prior to Dec. 1, then drop it in the secure red lock boxes at the following locations: Custer Area Chamber of Commerce (M-F 9 a.m.-4 p.m.), Highmark Federal Credit Union, First Interstate Bank or  Dacotah Bank. The following churches will have drop boxes available before and after services: Custer Lutheran Fellowship, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Custer Community Church, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and Crossroads Church.
Checks (made out to Custer Ministerial Alliance) may be mailed to Select A Gift, PO Box 366, Custer, SD 57730.
