Well six has been drilled to 760 feet and is producing almost the amount the Keystone Public Works Department hopes for. The Keystone Town Board voted at its Dec. 21 meeting to continue drilling on the current site until 40 gallons/minute of flow or a depth of 1000 feet is reached. The well is currently at 30 gallons/minute.
Trustee Matt Fullilove, who works for Alexander Drilling, explained drillers were not even tapping into fractures of Battle Creek. Going deeper “increases chances of picking up adequate water.”
