A $500 fee levied to a county homeowner for what was called an approach permit late fee was contested at the July 27 meeting of the Custer County Commission.
Attorney Erin Schoenbeck Byre of Bangs McCullen Law Firm was present at the meeting and spoke on behalf of her client, Tim Hartmann, who received the penalty from the county.
Schoenbeck Byre said it is her client’s belief there was a miscommunication on a pair of levels that resulted in the fee, which was levied over a pair of approaches to Hartmann’s Tin Cup Trail property.
